Soundcard inferface help wanted
Lew, N2RQ
I have been using a hardware packet TNC for many years. (Paccomm Tiny 2) It now fails to power on.
I would like to move to a sound card inferface. I have an Easy-Digi unit (unused) and an older Signalink USB.I use the Signalink for FLDIGI on Mondays. I am looking for suggestions for other options so that I may be able to use Packet and VARA FM What other hardware and software do I need? Thanks 73, Lew N2RQ@... |

Hi Lew, If you have not already done so, take a look at the RATPAC videos on YouTube. Over the last year or so they had many discussions about all manner of digital communications and the hardware and software that they believe work well for each. They have talked about signalink interfaces, but they typically suggested newer versions that had some better features and internal isolation transformers that were more conducive to use of faster and/or more modern protocols. One brand of interface that many of the users seemed to favor for VARA were the ones provided by a company called Masters Communications owned by a gentleman named Kevin Custer, W3KKC. You can find his stuff at his site Masterscommunications.com. I have no affiliation with him, other that having bought one of his kits that I have yet to build or use. I'm sure you can find a lot of the information you seek at RATPAC. 73.,Russ, KC2LSB On 9/24/2022 18:07 PM, Lew, N2RQ wrote:

I hope to test it out soon. I understand that Babylon Town Hall will soon have a Vara FM node on VHF. 73,
